My designing process usually consists of three stages - concept, refinement and construction. The concept usually consists of a consultation with you the client, so as to get an idea of what is required. This is accompanied by quick sketches and a hunt for fabrics, materials and/or yarns. Following this is a period of refinement with a 3D rendering of the design to show a more realistic looking garment and to see if there are any tweaks and changes that can be ironed out. Finally the construction stages take place: A toile (a mock up trial garment) is made to test fit and fine adjustments and then on to the fitting and finishing in the final fabrication, complete with adornments and decorations that need to complete the item. This is why special items take time to perfect. Contact me to arrange a consultation so we can discuss your ideal garment!
